Discovery Home Construction: Update 2

M.E. Latulippe Construction has done a great job over the past few weeks to prepare the home site for the foundation.  Currently the footings and frost walls are in place and the finishing touches are being put on the interior and exterior drainage.  Why is so much focus put on the drainage?  The simple answer is that dry basements make for happy homes and even happier homeowners!

We look forward to Green Building Solutions arriving later this week with Logix forms.  Logix makes ICFs (insulated concrete forms) which provide increased thermal performance for basement walls.  At the end of the day, ICFs make for a more energy efficient space when compared to the R-values of a traditional concrete foundation.  Look forward to a post next week for an update on the foundation walls and the next step of the building process:  framing.
